Spiders

ARACHNIDS: Spiders cannot fly. All spiders eat insects and are pests in structures when their webs become annoying or they are surprised and bite in self defense. Good housekeeping and screens can eliminate their prey and thus reduce their numbers.

Spiders in New England and even the United State aren’t generally a health concern, but more of a nuisance and even a fear. However, certain species (Black Widows, the Brown Recluse, etc.) can cause grave harm to people and pets, with a handful dying as a result from venomous bites each year.
WARNING! Spiders should be considered armed and dangerous.
Do not attempt to exterminate them by yourself.
